“THE SECRET OF GETTING AHEAD IS GETTING STARTED ”
Originally trained as a teacher and having worked several years at school, I then retrained as an interpreter and translator. When working for the police and the NHS I often met vulnerable people who needed help. As an interpreter I had to remain neutral. I think that was the time I decided I wanted to become a psychotherapist.
I have personally experienced the feeling of displacement and loss and I can ‘hear’ it in my clients. As a therapist I understand the feeling of being misplaced and scared, I empathise with my clients when they describe the fear of uncertainty, and I am able to support them when the strength and hope is needed. Throughout my training, I made some personal discoveries that have an impact on how I work with my clients. I feel privileged and grateful that people come to me and feel comfortable to share their feelings and struggles.

HOW I WORK
I will focus on your inner world and what is hidden from consciousness. I will draw out the unconscious responses and reflect them to you. By bringing the unconscious into consciousness you will develop more awareness and as a result have more choice. I will allow you to see a different perspective of what’s going on in your life. My aim as counsellor is aiding you to become a fully functioning person who has more control over what they do and is not driven by unresolved unconscious past events.
I will be asking you questions about your past experience and early years. I do that so I can understand your current behaviour in relation to your past and therefore can help you make the links. In my work I tune into your pace rather than my own urgency to fix, therefore allowing you to move at your own pace.
